Our Programme Manager, Public Engagement will play a crucial role in supporting our community andwill work closely with members, external partners, and the wider chemistry community to develop strong relationships and meaningful opportunities, to enhance links between our networks and to develop public engagement and outreach projects that progress ourwork in membership, education and inclusion and diversity. The role involves working with colleagues across the Royal Society of Chemistry as well as in partnership with external stakeholders such as sister societies, academic institutions, and community specialists.About You: PhD or related postgraduate qualification with specialist subject knowledge in engagement (equivalent specialist experience and demonstrable professional development gained, for example, through working in science or science-related project management, communication,or community engagement). Experience of working on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and / or able to balance and prioritise across multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines. Experience of senior stakeholder and partnership management across different sectors using a range of written and oral communication channels to engage and influence effectively. Knowledge of the public engagement and outreach landscape in informal learning environments and an understanding of how this intersects with the widening participation agenda. Ability to build positive and fruitful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including national organisations and networks. Initiative and ability to develop new ideas and strategic approaches to programme development, and to work collaboratively in a matrix environment. Experience of facilitation and / or organisation of networks, training, or workshops.The role will involve some working from home and travel within the UK (mainly to our London office). The contractual base for this role is our Cambridge office, however we are currently piloting hybrid working, and you may be able to work from a location otherthan this, as agreed with your line manager.
