Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting one of the top 10 fastest-growing planning firms in the UK with the appointment of a Director of Planning / Environmental Planning to cover the major infrastructure sector.Our client has created a Major Infrastructure and Environmental Planning Team to capitalise on their involvement in the current big ticket infrastructure development sectors in the UK. The teamwork on securing planning and consents for major projects thatrelate to this with a current focus on renewable energy. They are also involved in a range of other infrastructure sectors including waste, wastewater, highways and other linear development projects.The Environmental Planning team is a cross-sector, multi-disciplinary team delivering Environmental Planning consulting across the project life cycle. The company covers Town Planning and Consents and Environmental Impact Assessment and Management; Landscapeand Visual Assessment; Arboriculture; Cultural Heritage; Archaeology, Ecology and Socio-Economics. The team is supporting the delivery of some of the largest solar and battery storage schemes in the UK, and they have a strong pipeline of opportunities acrossthe energy and residential sectors.The team has a clear plan for growth over the next 5 years with the need for talented individuals to fill a number of roles focusing on the shift to Zero Carbon, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Sustainable Planning & Communities.The RoleIndividuals should have a strong track record of leading the environmental and consenting aspects of complex major projects, with a particular focus on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. Projects span all consenting regimes, all sectors andall phases of the project life cycle from the needs case development through to construction. Successful candidates will have proven experience of EIA and delivering successful consenting strategies, winning significant work as well as driving excellent collaborationwith design teams that deliver project success.These roles involve:
