Job Description

One of the UK`s most exciting technology development companies is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. You will be helping to deliver a breath-taking technology that is set to revolutionize medical procedures forthe benefit of millions of patients all around the world. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be involved in transferring the designs from the development to production, integrating and testing these innovative and complex electro-mechanical products,helping to establish the manufacturing processes.Manufacturing Engineer`s Responsibilities:Supporting the transfer of novel designs from development to production including pilot processes for new product designs and design changes including:

  • Researching, sourcing and identifying the latest cutting-edge technologies to deliver ambitious scale-up programmes
  • Designing and implementing a wide range of projects; including software, automation solutions and production hardware
  • Develop the reporting, data collection and monitoring tools
  • Using data analysis, simulation, and modelling tools to provide insight into operations activities and identifying areas for process improvement
  • Generating process design documentation, work instructions and specifications
Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer requirements:
  • An excellent BEng / MEng Degree (1st/2.1) in Mechanical or Production Engineering
  • At least 2 years experience within a relevant high technology manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in delivering large projects on time and on budget
  • Enthusiasm for digital manufacturing, new technologies and innovation
  • Great communication skills and a strong work ethic
Were also looking for experience in some or all of the following:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the experience managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including suppliers
  • Working in medical devices industry, particularly ISO13485 or similar regulated industries such as Aerospace or Automotive
  • A Lean Six Sigma qualification or demonstrable experience delivering manufacturing process improvements
  • Configured or rolled out ERP or MES software packages or functionality in a modern connected manufacturing environment (Netsuite / Aegis FLx)
  • Experience in using data analysis and modelling tools to identify process improvements or develop and implement solutions (Witness, coding or another discrete event package is ideal)
Vacancy Location: Cambridgeshire (commutable from Cambridge, Huntington, Peterborough, Bedford, Newmarket, Royston etc)
