Job Description

Small molecule drugs are organic compounds affecting molecular pathways by targeting important proteins. Small molecule drug discovery projects include target identification, target validation, hit identification hit to lead and lead optimisation & can leadto new medicines in a range of diseases.Our client focuses on the areas of mitochondrial and rare diseases to develop new drugs in therapeutic areas and diseases with significant unmet medical needs.We are recruiting for a Manager of Research Operations to join their team due to expansion. Currently a small subsidiary of a large global pharmaceutical company, there are ~20 in the team and they are seeking a candidate to be responsible for the successfulexecution of assigned programs in their research.The role will involve ultising your scientific background to provide operational support, provide critical information to leadership and stakeholders & be responsible for working across and liaising with several team (legal, finance, IT and operations).You will drive projects by successfully planning & managing procurement and organisation activities for the laboratories, as well as improving efficiency.Working in a startup environment, supported by a large pharmaceutical company, you will have a broad range of responsibilities which will require a dynamic and motivated candidate.This position is for you if you have: -

  • Degree level educated with a minimum 3 years experience in a pharma or biotech environment
  • Extensive experience in a relevant role will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Strong management experience preferentially across multiple teams/ departments with direct reports
  • Experience managing evolving lab facilities to fit business needs
  • An ability to manage, influence and negotiate with key internal stakeholder across the business
  • Knowledge of internal functional operations (Tech Ops, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, etc) is preferred
This is an initial 12-month contract with a realistic opportunity to be made permanent, with plenty of progression for growth.
