Job Description

Job title - Information OfficerLocation - Cambridge, CB2Contract - Temporary ongoing Hours - Part time 25-28 over at least 3 days, must include a WednesdayStart Date: ASAPOur Client are looking for temporary information Officer to assist in the development, operation and maintenance of IT systems to store, retrieve and provide grants information, financial data and statistics. The successful candidate will provide administrativesupport to enable the smooth running of the grants application and monitoring processes.Duties would include:

  • Assist in the development, operation and maintenance of IT systems to store, retrieve and provide grants information, financial data and statistics
  • Provide administrative support to enable the smooth running of the grants application and monitoring processes
  • Respond where appropriate to enquiries from voluntary organisations on the grants application process. When necessary, forward on more complicated queries to the Grants team
  • Assist with proofreading of Committee reports
  • Support work on developing a digital grants platform
  • Maintain an up-to-date electronic filing system ensuring documents are filed quickly and appropriately. Ensure documents are deleted in line with the Councils data retention policy
  • Respond to telephone and email enquiries
  • Make payments to groups
  • Liaise with other partners working on grant administration where relevant
  • Carry out any other duties as required by your line manager from time to time in accordance with the grading of the post
Essential criteria and experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Experience working with grants or in the public sector would be an advantage
