Job Description

HSE Manager (Machine Safety) - Manufacturing - UK Wide - to £55,000 About the Company & RoleOur client an established, fast-paced manufacturing business is currently looking to recruit an experienced HSE Manager with an emphasis and extensive knowledge of Machine Safety.Supporting HSE, Engineering and Site Leadership Teams, the successful candidate will act as the Machine Safety Expert in the HSE Team and will ensure Engineering projects are compliant with PUWER, Relevant International Standards, CPI Standards and InternalBest Practice.You will develop improvement programmes for existing equipment and support sites to reduce risk.HSE Manager (Machine Safety) - The Rewards

  • £45,000 to £55,000

HSE Manager (Machine Safety Standards) - Requirements
  • Previous HSE Management experience ideally gained within fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Extensive understanding of Machine Safety legislation including PUWER and International Standards
  • Experience in working with all levels of Stakeholders, with the ability to coach, advise and drive a safety improvement culture
  • NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent would be highly desirable
  • Ability to identify HSE Machine Safety risk and provide recommendations and implement solutions to mitigate these
  • A clear understanding of the latest safety & compliance legislation obligations, especially with regards to machine Safety (PUWER)
  • Experience in working within a diverse team
  • Strong audit skills
  • Strong safety related experience in managing projects
HSE Manager (Machine Safety) - Responsibilities
  • Support the site HSER and Leaderships teams in developing the annual HSER Plan from a machine safety perspective
  • Provide expert advice on machine safety and guide the continuing roll out of risk reduction programs in this area.
  • Through involvement in the procurement, installation and commissioning processes, support the UK organisation to ensure newly purchased equipment is compliant with Appendix 1.
  • Represent the wider company and group in UK technical committees on machine safety.
  • Support the Division in ensuring compliance to Appendix 1 of new assets.
  • Support the transition to UK CA marking.
  • Develop programmes to train and coach Engineers and HSER Managers on the principles of Machine Safety.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on machine safety, advising and supporting site leadership teams and the central engineering team.
  • Advise on best practice and legal aspects of machine safety.
  • Support incident investigations from a machine safety perspective.
  • Develop and maintain internal machine safety standards in line with best practices.
