Invasive Cardiac Physiology – Band 7 (Bank) Do you want to work in a brand new state of the art purpose built facility on the Cambridge Biomedical campus, which is becoming one of the largest integrated services in the UK Do you think you have the skills both technically and with patients to be able to provide a world class serviceThe Cardiac Physiology Department at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a dynamic, exciting and innovative place to work and as such, we are pleased to be offering the opportunity for permanent positions in the invasive cardiology team.For substantive staff we are able to offer a competitive recruitment and retention package which includes a 10% R&R on initial employment which rises to 12.5% R&R at 3 years, as well as £500 to cover relocation costs.The posts will be based at Royal Papworth Hospital and are available at Bands 7 for a Cardiac Scientist or Physiologist specialising in cardiac rhythm management, intervention (including structural work) and electrophysiology. We are seeking an applicant who is currently looking for a positive step in their career, who is highly motivated, willing to further develop their skills and want to join our dynamic and caring team.Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading European institutions for heart and lung specialisms and sees an extremely diverse patient cohort. We undertake a whole range of advanced and complex procedures, including the physiology-led implantation of loop recorders, physiology-led research, and trialling of the latest technologies and procedures. We focus on collaborative clinical decision making for all our services, including the management of complex cardiac devices, such as CRT and ICDs, 3D EP mapping (ablations) as well as adjunctive interventional techniques, such as IVUS and OCT. We provide strong team support and development, and our cardiac scientists /physiologists undertake independent cardiac device management in complex clinical situations. We have an active research and professional activity portfolio and expect our team to be involved in education, training and research.Our patient device population is in excess of 10,000 and includes patients with the latest CRM technology such as leadless pacemakers and MPP CRTD. In the wake of Covid, we have brought forward our plan of increasing the remote follow-up provision and are in the process of moving the majority of our CRM patients follow-ups onto home monitoring. This provides new opportunities for home working for our staff.In EP we use advanced innovative technologies from Carto 3, Rhythmia and Acutus for 3D complex mapping and ablation. Structural services include TAVI, ASD/VSD closure, Mitraclip and we are the only centre in the UK performing pulmonary artery angioplasty. We have a busy primary service and we work closely with our non-invasive colleagues. Our echocardiography division is a pioneering centre in 3D technology directing invasive structural procedures.All cardiac physiologists, scientists are expected and supported to maintain their CPD, with frequent opportunities for training and education, both internally and externally.Part-time and job share applications are welcomed.
