Job Description

  • Front End Developer
  • Up to £500 per dayInside IR35 via Umbrella
  • 6 month contract
  • Mix of Remote and being in Cambridge 2 days per week
Working for a global leading software design company that is at the heart of all modern day technology, we are looking for a Front End Developer to join them on a 6 month contract. As a highly skilled Front-EndDeveloper you will take pride in your code and value well-written, well-structured HTML, JavaScript and stylesheets and be passionate about making the best possible use of modern in-browser technologies. Are you a good team-player who loves to build innovative solutions to complex problemsDo you have a can-do attitude and are you always looking to take responsibility and ownership of the quality to completionThis opportunity will give you the chance to work with popular technologies and standards such as Web Components, React, Webpack, etc. You will gain exposure to all areas of the business and opportunities for learning and development.What we expect from you:
  • Develop features and improvements to the Design System in a scalable, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Product Designers, Front-End Engineers and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
  • Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment.
  • Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
Whats the job likeYou will work with a team of expert front-end developers who, collectively, define the standards and guidelines and look into new technologies. With support from architects, other developers, testers and communities of practice, you will collaborate with Agileapplication teams, building our next web applications.You will take ownership of the quality of your own work, so a significant part of the job is ensuring your code is of high quality, testable, re-usable, maintainable and performant.Skills required:
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency with at least one CSS framework such as Tailwind, Bootstrap, Foundation and so on
  • Experience creating UI pattern libraries / design systems
  • Experience with React or similar libraries like Vue or Angular
  • Experience working with CI/CD and TDD practices.
  • Experience building accessible features
  • Experience building web applications that work seamlessly and performant in mobile browsers
