Job Description

Front End DeveloperLocation: CambridgeSalary: £32k - £36kThe Client:Specialising in virtual production, camera tracking, broadcast robotics and remote production solutions and are passionate and experienced in the conception, production and installation of full turnkey and bespoke solutions.The Clients product range spans remote heads & motion control, broadcast robotics, mechanical and optical camera tracking for AR & VR, VP and on-set visualization.The Role:This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and self-driven Front End Developer to work with a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced camera robotics and game-changing virtual production technologies for film, TV, and live broadcast. You will joinan innovative and agile team dedicated to the development of smart and inspired technology that is rapidly changing the future of camera tracking, robotic control and film production.To be successful in this role, you should be able to translate the company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, curious about cutting-edge technologies and aspire to combine usabilitywith visual design.They have been working for community of broadcast and production clients in 50+ countries including BBC, Netflix and ESPN.Duties:You will be responsible for building the client-side of the web applications. By writing code, you will create a functional and attractive environment for their company, ensuring great user experience.

  • Use a variety of programming languages to create user friendly web pages
  • Maintain and improve company website
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability
  • Design, develop and test web application software that works with internal hardware and software systems
  • Stay consistent with brand guidelines
  • Make suggestions for better solutions to problems
  • Manage a variety of development projects
Experience/Skills:
  • Higher education degree in a relevant field
  • Practical work experience in front end web development (full stack is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques
  • Experience with JavaScript, CSS and HTML
  • Understanding of ICT and network systems
  • CMS development, preferably WordPress
  • Ability to work independently and within a project team
  • Confidence working in a fast paced constantly changing environment
  • Good time-management skills
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with Django
  • Knowledge of server-side languages such as Python, PHP and Ruby
  • Experience designing mobile-based features
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN
Hours:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full time in office
