Start: ASAP Location: Cambridge, CB3Hours: Full Time, Hybrid Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 plus review at 4mths and lucrative shares!As an entry level FPGA Engineer you will have digital design skills to work on an exciting new project. This role joins an ambitious team, focused on developing next generation display solutions. You will be working alongside world-leading optical and electronicengineers and software developers to research, design and implement FPGA solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical:* Develop FPGA images using SystemVerilog* Verify FPGA designs using SystemVerilog and automated testbenches* Have an understanding of other HDLs such as Verilog and VHDL* Organise and document FPGA development* Analyse and optimise the performance of designs* Design and verification of digital device solutions* Writing test benches* Achieve timing closures in complex high-speed designs* Assist the Electronic Engineers to select components* Build test harnesses for verification* Develop using embedded languages for processor design Education and AbilityThe post holder will have most or all of the following:* Post graduate in either Electronic Engineering/Computer Science or a related subject* Understanding of high speed digital design principles* Experience in design and development of FPGA applications* Good understanding of Verilog or VHDL* Experience in use of design tools for simulation, synthesis and verification* Strong problem solving skills* Excellent ability to communicate technical conceptsDesirable / working towards:* Experience with high memory bandwidth requirements* Experience with signal processing applications (eg FFT)* Experience with HDMI/Displayport type protocols* Experience in Python or C/C++* Experience with version control (Git, SVN)* Embedded software development experience* An interest in holography* An interest in Computer Graphics* Worked within an Agile-environment previously* Experience in a highly regulated industry (i.e. medical, aerospace, military)If you are interested in the role of FPGA Engineer and feel that you have the relevant experience, please contact your Recruitment Partner, Kelly Baldwin at Aspire Recruitment on or email If this job isnt exactly right for you but youre looking for something new, please contact us for a confidential career discussion.Aspire Recruitment is acting as an Employment Agency in regard to this Permanent opportunity.
