Job Description

FPGA Design Engineer - FPGA, VHDL, RTL £40,000-£70,000 dependant on experiencePermanent Role Milton, near Cambridge - UK Benefits:

Are you open to joining an innovation focused technology company, with a start-up dynamic but the stability of a larger organisation Would you like to help them develop there groundbreaking products, taking on the major players of the industryWe are recruiting for a innovating focused engineering company, disturbing the NDT industry with some exciting technology.Heavily backed by the parent company, they are as stable and secure as ambitious start-ups come.The Position: We are looking for a junior FPGA engineer to expand the FPGA team in Cambridge, to participate in and deliver the embedded FPGA features that will support our next-gen NDA/NDT solutions.The job:This FPGA Design engineer opportunity is key to the improvements of current product sets, and the development on new products moving forwards.Its a changing dynamic position and will suit a problem solving engineer .You will be expected to:
  • Participating in designing, building, verifying and debugging VHDL based FPGA solutions for new and enhanced products.
  • Working closely with other development disciplines to integrate FPGA solutions.
  • Support architecture teams in implementing new system architectures.
  • Manage and maintain configuration control & CI/CD processes for FPGA designs.
  • Work in a growing, high performing development team.
  • Support product development and integration activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A degree or equivalent in Electronic/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or other relevant discipline
  • 2+ years (5+ senior) proven track record in design and delivery of complex FPGA based systems
  • VHDL RTL design, Synthesis, place/route and timing closure & constraints
  • Test verification and simulation methods (UVM/UVVM)
  • Development on Linux & Windows based systems
Desirable Experience:
  • Build tools installation/maintenance
  • Intel/Altera tools and design
  • FPGA ARM SoC Linux development
  • Embedded C/C++
  • DSP, HPS & Various FPGA architectures (including SoC) & Yocto
  • Integration and bring up of hardware systems
