Job Description

The closely knit finance team contribute to that success by creating strong controls throughout the business along with timely and accurate information both for internal and external stakeholders. This includes overseeing financial planning and management activities, including budgeting and forecasting, reporting and compliance.Would you be a good fit for the 1Spatial finance team We are looking for someone who is organised, with proven communication skills and ability to use their own initiative to ensure all duties are completed on time and with high level of precision. We love people who are approachable, smart, innovative and agile and who care about learning and continuous improvement.As the Financial Controller, you will have the overall responsibility for UK, Ireland and Australian finance departments, and submission and review of monthly sub-consolidated management accounts and annual statutory accounts. You will also act as a single point of contact for auditors.You will be responsible forBusiness Partnership

  • Partnering with the regional senior management team and presenting the regional results at the monthly Group management meeting
  • Supporting the entity management accountants to improve and align processes
  • Helping manage key external (finance) relationships, such as customers, suppliers or financial services (audit & tax)
  • Supporting the CFO and Group FC with local audit/tax requirements
  • Financial Reporting
  • Reviewing regional and entity management accounts
  • Consolidating profit and loss account and balance sheet on monthly basis and FX revaluation/adjustments
  • Reviewing actuals vs budgets/forecasts and commenting on variances
  • Analysing business performance and business partnering with budget holders
  • Annual accounts for audit
  • Reviewing monthly cashflow reports
  • Producing quarterly forecasts and annual budgets alongside the Managing Director of UK & Ire
  • Assisting and liaising with HR to review payroll and approving payment runs
  • Overseeing raising of sales invoice and credit control
  • Reviewing quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparing statutory accounts for audit assisted by external accountants
  • Reviewing the calculations and producing documentation for the annual R&D tax relief claim, alongside external advisors
  • Supporting the Group FC and CFO on other ad hoc tasks
  • People Management
  • Leading, managing and developing the UK, Ireland & Australia Finance team to ensure achievement of corporate financial processes and objectives, and alignment of skills and knowledge with needs of the company.
  • Required Skills and experience:
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Strong and proven financial accounting experience
  • Experience in working for a multi-currency/global business
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who wants to grow with the business
  • Desired Skills and experience:
  • Working knowledge of FinancialForce/Salesforce
  • Spoken French will be an added advantage
