Job Description

Experienced Animal Technician£23,487 - £29,116Are you an Experienced Animal Technician looking for the opportunity to join a professional, world-recognised company, assisting with the day-to-day care and welfare of animalsWe have an incredible opportunity to join our prestigious client on a full-time, permanent basis.Your main role as an Experienced Animal Technician will include assisting in the daily husbandry and welfare of animals, you will perform daily routine tasks, such as, observations, feeding and watering.Your main duties will include:

  • Establishing new breedings, weaning, and sexing of offspring
  • Ensuring appropriate animal identification methods are applied
  • Ensuring enclosures and cages are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Provision of adequate fresh food and water
  • Temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the department
  • Ensuring that all animal husbandry and procedural records/data are up to date and accurate
  • Understanding of phenotypes and procedures that may be used to manage phenotypic animals
Skills and Experience:
  • IAT Level 3 or animal related qualification
  • Previous experience working with genetically altered rodent
  • Significant demonstrable knowledge of Home Office legislation and Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and experience working under the act. E
  • Holds a Home Office Personal licence (modules A and B) and significant experience undertaking a variety of regulated procedures
  • Able to work weekends (once a month)
