Ref: 23211Electrical Controls Engineer - The Role:Design and develop specifications for electrical control systemsLiaise with the Project Manager and Project Team, identifying design requirements: function, reliability, cost, serviceability and ensure the design integrates correctlyDesign, develop, upgrade electrical control hardware in a timely manner preparing and maintaining design documentationProduce BOMs specifying bought our components and their source of supplyObtain cost effective quotations from vendors for electrical control systems components Provide technical support for the Manufacturing team, Procurement, and the Design Team, aiding with test and build procedures and the transfer of the product to manufacturing and the customerDefine appropriate, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly techniquesUnderstand technical risks, devise & implement mitigation plansEnsure new product designs meet necessary requirementsSupport product integration and acceptance testingProvide technical support to customersAdhere to company processes, policies, and proceduresElectrical Controls Engineer - The Person:HNC or above in Electrical / Control Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years’ product development and manufacturing experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environmentExperience using EPlan / E3 series / Autocad ElectricalKnowledge of national & international electrical and safety regulations would be an advantageAbility to work well autonomously and as part of a teamGood ability to make decisions and initiate actionWillingness to research and learnThis position is also open to a Control Software Engineer who enjoys hardware design.Duties would include:Design, develop, upgrade, and troubleshoot PLC programs, HMI and electrical control hardware in a timely manner preparing and maintaining design documentationDesign of PLC electrical control and multi-axis motion control systemsLocated in the East, this role would be commutable from Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Bedford, Hitchin, Huntingdon and surrounding areas.By applying for this role, you are consenting for us to hold and process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.
