• Effectively utilise the expertise within the Procurement department, providing strategic direction and leadership.
• Accountable for managing the portfolio of all CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organisations) globally, ensuring these relationships support Mundipharmas strategy and deliverables.
• Lead, coach, and develop the dispersed global team of Procurement CMO Category Managers.
• Manage and ensure Suppliers/CMOs deliver across the range of functions that affect the delivery of product. Key focus is on the contractual conditions to ensure Mundipharma is getting supplied at most competitive conditions. This includes negotiating andfinalizing new contracts as well as renegotiating current ones despite potential contractual limitations, mitigating identified risks.
• Manage and be escalation point for CMO/Supplier activity, in conjunction with the various other functions/departments that work to ensure continuous delivery and sustainable pricing of product.
• Manage the contractual compliance and overall relationship, including performance, innovation and continuous improvement.

Specific Duties & Accountabilities

• Responsible to manage all global spend with CMOs (~$850m), managing the performance of CMOs, assessing their ability to meet cost, quality and delivery requirements, and put improvement plans in place when necessary; ensure effective execution of programsto meet business needs.
• Lead the team (~3 HC) to ensure optimized spend in the area of CMOs
• Responsible to deliver continuously improvement in COGS across the portfolio, including NPI. Savings target ~ $10m each year incrementally
• Support VP Procurement in renegotiations of contracts with minimum volume obligations (MSD,Neovi, Novaquest) leading to take-or-pay obligations

• Develop, propose and implement a cost improvement program together with the team for all CMOs and suppliers.
• Support Supply Chain in embedding and rolling out the SRM program for the allocated CMOs, carry out appropriate Business Reviews (including reviews of KPIs/scorecard, innovation/ risk mitigation opportunities) together with Supply Chain
• Implement the Procurement Initiatives as well as Rationalization of supply base

• Serve together with the team as the primary focus for all allocated CMO and Suppliers related cost saving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Business Development in establishing overarching CMO strategy plan.
• Develop an appropriate reporting including KPIs for Savings, Cost avoidance, spend coverage etc.
• Responsible for implementing Supplier Improvement program involving CMOs

• Together with the team being the Contract owner/administrator

• Carry out specific projects related to the development of the Sourcing function in its transition towards a best in class organisation.
• Performance of the Director Procurement, CMO & Projects

• Working cross functionally
• Establish and improve department policies and procedures in cooperation with department head and key stakeholder groups.
• Successful implementation and adoption of new policies, measured through alignment with IAF via policy and process related audits

Qualifications Essential

• Experience of working in a pharmaceutical industry (Sourcing, Procurement, External Supply) operations in a GMP environment, ideally within end to end supply chain.
• Successful Sourcing experience managing CMO and COGS categories and/or working in such role for a CMO
• Extensive experience in spend responsibilities
• Demonstrated strong track record in WC improvements and savings realisation
• How to manage multi-functional disciplines across departments
• Demonstrated performance and capability at a high standard in enabling and driving change, stakeholder management and creating business solutions
• Managing multi-functional disciplines across departments

Desirable

• Significant change management experience.
• Knowledge & experience in project management of pharmaceutical tech transfer and product supplies into multiple international markets.
