Job DescriptionThe application development team are responsible for all our internally written services which includes the Agent Portal, Product Catalogue, staff starters/leavers process, student starters/leavers process, document reading services and lead scoring services.The team have a strong track record of delivery, and their services are becoming more and more sought after across the group of companies. As a result of this, the team size is going to increase from three to five people with one of the five being the DeliveryTeam Leader. We have a strategic relationship with a near shore delivery partner who provide the team with incremental skills and capacity where required.The role of the Delivery Team Leader is to perform line management of the two senior developers and two developers defining their objectives, performing 1-2-1 meetings, appraising their performance and planning the training schedule. The role is also responsiblefor executing the Agile practices across the team, defining the technical direction for the team and assisting the CIO in developing the delivery roadmap.Role & Responsibilities

• Perform line management of the team members including setting objectives, appraising performance, performing 1-2-1 meetings and all activities related to hiring new staff into the team
• Mange the agile delivery working practices including sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, retrospective meetings and estimating.
• Create and manage the training agenda for the team members
• Work with the CIO to define and manage the delivery roadmap and schedule for the team feeding the skill requirements into the training plan for the team.
• Plan out the utilisation of the near-shore delivery partner in the roadmap and lead discussions with the partner
• Provide technical oversight on any work performed through delivery partners
• Perform hands-on delivery work with the team to maintain technical competencies and technical leadership.
• Manage the budget for delivery projects including internal time allocation and external spend with the near-shore delivery partner.
• Liaise with the Service Manager and the wider IT management team to understand support issues and allocate the work to the relevant team member.
• Liaise with key stakeholders on business as usual changes and feed these into the sprint planning activities.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in leading a small team
• Experience in managing 3rd parties within a delivery team
• Experience in liaising with non-IT staff to understand their requirements
• Experience in defining a roadmap and delivering the projects which are defined within this
• Extensive development experience in relevant technologies to deliver API services
• Extensive development experience of publish-subscribe services using Azure based middleware technologies
• Extensive skills in C#, .Net, .Net Core and SQL Server
• Database design and implementation skills
• Container development and deployment using Kubernetes or similar technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both IT and non-IT staff
• Ideally skills in configuring and using the Azure Service Bus.
