Job Description

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Computational Biologist with single-cell sequencing experience to join a ground breaking biotech start-up in the Cambridge area.You will be afforded the opportunity to be an integral part of a company that is making a tangible difference to unlocking effective cell therapy treatments. You will be working alongside a dedicated cross-disciplinary team who are all striving to push the boundaries of synthetic and stem cell biology.Computational Biologist Responsibilities:

  • Working to develop new research avenues in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Providing scientific expertise by contributing across all areas of the business
  • Develop algorithms and computational tools
  • Analyse large and sophisticated datasets from biological samples
  • Computational Biologist ProfileEssential:
  • A PhD in a Computational Biology / Bioinformatician related discipline, with 3+ years of experience focusing on single cell RNA-seq analysis (PhD time can be included), with a strong knowledge of the benefits and limitations of this technique
  • Good grounding in computational fundamentals (ML/AI/Algorithms)
  • Proficient with R and/or Python
  • Experience of working with NGS data and analysing large datasets
  • Good biological knowledge, and general interest in the area of work
  • Desirable:
  • Exposure to data analysis of stem cell engineering
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with gene regulatory networks and gene expression
  • Exposure with bulk RNA-seq, microarrays, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and/or other genomic techniques
