Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Cell Line Development Manager to join a company supporting the discovery, development and manufacture of biotherapeutics at their site based in Cambridge on a permanent basis.The Company:Our client provides discovery and development services to biopharmaceutical companies and academic centres all over the world.Location:This Cell Line Development Manager role is located on the outskirts of Cambridge.Cell Line Development Manager Role:Your main duties will be to:

  • Lead a small team, within the larger Cell Line Development group, to generate mammalian cell lines for the expression and manufacture of therapeutic proteins.
  • Independently manage and deliver individual projects as well as prepare and review reports, whilst managing own and others work schedule.
  • Generate and present data and findings within the company as well as to clients and assist in the drafting and review of laboratory protocols and work instructions.
Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:
  • Educated to a minimum of BSc level with extensive relevant experience, including routine passage of cells and transfection of cells for recombinant protein expression, preferably using CHO cells.
  • Experience with automation and high-throughput technologies as applied to mammalian cell line generation and cell line development (e.g. Ambr systems, Liquid handling, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with leading a smaller team of scientists and managing stakeholders (e.g clients).
