Job Description

This role is of high priority for this school just outside of Cambridge as the individual will be responsible for the smooth running, maintenance and development, and safety and security of the physical resources of the campus.Encompassing both school and community use of the facilities the postholder will be responsible for oversight and coordination of operations inside and outside of office hours.This is a highly rewarding position for the right person with a Campus Management, Facilities Management or Estates Management background.Responsibilities

  • Site Planning and Maintenance
  • Overall responsibility for the functionality and maintenance of all buildings, equipment and facilities within the site
  • Oversee the routine maintenance and servicing of all College and Departmental infrastructures/services (e.g. boiler plant and heating installations, electrical installations and fittings, plumbing/heating and sanitary fittings) and to oversee a preventativemaintenance programme
  • Sourcing outside contractors or using in-house staff as appropriate
  • Review tender of all maintenance contracts periodically (3 - 5 years), evaluating tenders and advising as required
  • To develop all necessary documentation, in consultation with relevant Academy Trust personnel, to ensure that the College complies with statutory provisions relating to the facilities (e.g. Disability Access, Conservation etc)
  • Lead the Site Team effectively and by example, setting high standards in all areas
  • Arrange the working rotas of all the Site Team, in conjunction with the Community Coordinator, Site Line Manager and other school personnel, distributing and monitoring tasks and prioritising effectively
  • Ensure the cleaning of the school premises and site to a high standard
  • Updating fire risk assessments for the College in liaison with the Trust Business Manager
  • Weekly maintenance of all emergency fire systems including the sprinkler systems
  • Oversee College security, ensuring effective intruder alarm systems and procedures
  • Be a keyholder, participating in the call-out rota in emergencies (payment for this duty is included in the overall salary; no further allowance is paid)
