Job Description

We are looking to hire a C# software developer to work with software and instrument development teams on the development of new instrumentation products.The role:A key member of a growing software team, you will contribute to the development of the next generation of software to be used with the Lightcast Platform. This will involve working alongside the engineering and biology teams to develop new instrument controland data analysis systems to allow scientists to perform complex experiments as simply and efficiently as possible.Key aspects of the role include:

  • Key involvement in the architecture and design of a new platform and supporting application software to perform instrument control and execution of biological workflows
  • Contributing to the solution to often complex, algorithmic problems as well as the design of intuitive user interfaces
  • Involvement in requirements clarification, ensuring complex concepts are understood and translated in to well-tested, high-quality code
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team covering engineering, electronics and biology, using an Agile process to ensure key deliverables are met to time and quality
Qualifications:Bachelor or Masters Degree in Software Engineering or related engineering disciplines with a focus on Computer Science, or equivalent experienceRequired:
  • Minimum 3 years experience of working in software development
  • Thorough understanding of C++ or C#, and object-oriented programming methodologies, in either Windows or Linux environments
  • Experience with hardware integration, e.g. driving actuators, sensors, ADC circuits etc
  • Familiarity with Agile development concepts and test-driven development
  • Experience of source control and software build processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other teams across various disciplines
Desired:
  • Scientific computing knowledge and a strong mathematical background
  • Knowledge of software for image processing / machine vision
  • Technical knowledge of databases, data storage and logging concepts, and computer network technologies
  • Experience of early-stage development, including the use of prototyping and proof-of-concept work
  • Experience using .Net and WPF, or similar GUI frameworks, e.g. Qt
  • Experience of software build and installer creation
  • Pharma/Regulatory software experience, e.g. IEC 62304 or 21CFR part11.
  • Experience of enterprise level systems and systems integration
  • Familiarity with Python
