PHE are currently seeking applicants for a range of roles to work in one of 7 regional hubs carrying out genomic sequencing of the SARS CoV 2 virus and in other areas of public health importance. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the global effort to break the transmission of COVID 19.You will have an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and experts utilising sequencing solutions to address the current pandemic.Initially the posts are fixed term for one year with the potential for progression to substantive posts (secondments will also be considered). This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, enhance your training in genomics and progress your career in advancing areas of technology.Each of the sites operates a 7-day working week and the applicant will be required to work a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Each site delivers a 24-hour service. The successful candidate will be required to work defined shifts, as required.
