The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.The Clinical Genomics Laboratory at Cambridge University Hospitals has an exciting opportunity foraBioinformatician to join the clinical bioinformatics team within the Laboratory, and within the East Midlands and East of England Genomics Laboratory Hub, based in Cambridge.The East Midlands and East of England NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub (EMEE GLH) is one of seven Genomic Hubs recently established to provide the new National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England.Led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester, the EMEE GLH will offer a high quality service to deliver the tests listed in the National Genomic Test Directory, for a population of 10million. This includes diagnostic tests for inherited disorders and for cancer, disease monitoring and predictive tests, and inthefuture will include pharmacogenomic testing.
