We are supporting a fast-growing Biotechnology company in Cambridge with their search for a Bioinformatician.Interfacing with software, scientific & engineering experts across the business you will be providing biostatistics support to projects as well as closely working with wet-lab scientists in experimental design and data analysis & interpretation.Key Responsibilities: Bioinformatician· Collaborating with wet-lab scientists to understand the experimental goals· Providing statistical & data interpretation support· Assisting biologists with sequencing databases· Development & review of software codeIn addition to the above, you must be a good problem-solver & communicator, as well as being comfortable working in group environments & interacting with stakeholders across the business.About You: Bioinformatician· A PhD or relevant experience in Bioinformatics, Statistics or relevant field· Working experience of applying statistical principle to biological problems· Skilled in working with next-generation sequencing data (NGS), biopolymer sequences and biological databases· Proficient in R or Python· Competent in shell scripting & constructing analysis pipelinesIn addition to an excellent basic salary & option scheme, our client has a refreshing approach to the investment of their staff’s professional development & learning.This is a fantastic opportunity with a client that we are honoured to be working with and would welcome the opportunity to share a full job description with you.
