Contract: Permanent, 29.5 to 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (or spread over 5 days)Salary: £20,000 to £26,000 pro rataAbout the department and the roleWe are looking for a Records Assistant to support the management and development of the corporate born-digital archive. Reporting to the Document Manager, the Records Assistant will work predominantly on the input and development of the born-digital publications archive.Working in the Archives & Heritage team you will assist in the day-to-day management of the digital archive, dealing with digital transfers of examination material as well as carrying out a wide range of duties for our Archives Services.The Archive & Heritage Section is headed by the Group Archivist and manages the corporate archive of an organisation that has existed since 1858, serving all areas of Cambridge Assessment business.Contributing to the successful running of the user services, you will be dealing with enquiries, from across Cambridge Assessment and members of the public, assisting researchers, and helping us meet the professional archival standards we advocate and represent.What you’ll be doingThe main responsibilities will include a range of tasks such as: Uploading files to the born-digital publications archive following precise guidelines Helping to create digital resources following agreed procedures and protocols Responding to general enquiries from depositors and users of the digital archive Responding to general archive enquiries including processing requests and payments Assisting archive users by producing documents for visitors and maintaining the reading room Carrying out a range of office administrative duties including those specific to archive management and providing general administrative assistance to the teamMost of the duties will require onsite working although occasional home working will be possible.What we’re looking forQualificationsEducated to A Level standard or equivalent minimumSkills Excellent IT ability and skills to learn new systems quickly High attention to detail on repetitive tasks Works well as part of a small team Flexible, cheerful, well organised and professional Excellent written and oral communication skillsCambridge Assessment is Europe’s largest assessment group, incorporating three major awarding bodies.
