Job Description

Job Title: Application Manager Contract: PermanentSalary: £48,000 - £62,000Location: Cambridge - hybrid and flexible working availableAs we move forward towards an agile culture, we have an opportunity to come and join our team as an Application Manager / Senior Application Manager during this exciting time.The RoleWorking in tandem with Service Delivery Managers, Product Owners and Head of Centre of Excellence, you will be involved in shaping & managing the delivery for a suite of applications.Your recommendations on refinement and optimisation of our processes, standards, frameworks, and methodologies help drive the culture of continuous improvement.What youll be doing

  • Management of your suite of applications through the software development life cycle
  • Actively participating in the application management community, helping shape the culture and processes
  • Identifying improvements to enhance reliability or add customer value to the suite of applications
  • Ownership of incident investigation and resolution, being involved in major incidents & Problem Record resolutions
  • Help to foster an agile mindset and encourage a great team culture
  • Communicate status and direction for your suite of applications
  • Planning and road mapping your suite of applications, defining the deliverables, resource requirements, and work plan for required application releases
About youSkills
  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience, reaching the desired understanding
  • Ability to motivate your team members to meet tight deadlines and create a motivational environment
  • Working knowledge of planning tools and delivery frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, ITIL, Jira, Trello
Experience
  • Excellent knowledge and background of the full software development life cycle, with a working knowledge of each of the relevant stages
  • Excellent relationship management, conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement skills up to Director level
  • Proven experience in effective risk & issue management
  • Track record of successful release implementation in an application development environment
  • Understanding the agile mindset and know when and how to apply in different situations
  • Managing and coaching empowered teams
