Job Description

I am looking to hire a number of 1st/2nd Line Network Engineers on behalf of a Professional Services organisation, to support a large portfolio of end customers. Reporting into the Technical Team Leader, you will be responding to BAU tickets at 2nd Line level.If you are an established 1st Line technical engineer who has proven successs with providing 2nd Line support, this position is ideal - the preferred candidate will be proactive in maintaining and developing their knowledge, skills, and experience.This role sits inside IR35.Remote/PeterboroughThe Role:

  • You will be responsible for responding to incidents, providing end users with a technical solution within the agreed SLAs;
    1. Incident Diagnostics and Assistance
    2. Log Monitoring and Analysis
    3. Rule base Auditing and Advisory
    4. Device Software Upgrades, Patches, and Bug Fixes
    5. Configuration Backup / Restore
    6. Rule base and Network Configuration Change Management
  • Act as main point of escalation and expertise for 1st line engineers.
  • Maintain technical accreditations in line with catalogued services.
  • Escalate and work collaboratively with vendors when required.
  • You will be required to set up and complete scheduled tasks, as and when required.
  • Recognise when to escalate potential service issues to the Team Lead.
  • Recommend and deploy all changes via the change management process when required.
  • Provide technical assistance to on-going projects and the transition of new customers, as and when required.
  • Skills/Experience required:
  • It is an immediate expectation that you have 2-3 years commercial experience in a similar SLA driven 1st/2nd Line support role.
  • Excellent customer service Skills are essential.
  • You will need to currently hold Cisco CCNA certification, as a minimum.
  • Any commercial knowledge/experience with Cisco Call Manager, ITIL (basic-level knowledge), Fortinet, F5, Checkpoint is highly advantageous.
