Job Description

Technical Sales Executive CalneWe’re pleased to be working with a well-established and financially strong construction organization, who deal with contractors of high-end private projects as well as complex commercial enterprises.Our client is currently looking for a technical salesperson to be based within the sales team and provide technical backup across the full range of our products, oversee the sales process and manage the sales team.The company is well known for solving complex problems with unique and purpose-built products and its reputation is built on the quality and ingenuity of its machines. Products are designed, manufactured and tested onsite with continual development of new and improved creations.Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain customer relationships
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions for customer problems through in depth product, company and industry knowledge
  • Technical back up for customers
  • Oversee the sales process from order to delivery
  • Provide quotes, estimates and valuations to potential and existing customers
  • Effectively lead, develop and motivate the sales team.
  • Lead and embed best practice and customer focus
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events, customer site visits and product demonstrations
  • Oversee marketing and social media activity
  • Manage customer database and sales administration process
  • Become familiar with our customer base, products, prices and the wider industry
  • Become familiar with each stage of the process from sales to delivery
  • Work with other areas of the business to understand what special projects are planned and to understand capacity and priorities
  • Contribute to the growth of the company through continuous improvement
  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
  • Sales experience (especially technical, agricultural engineering or machinery)
  • Construction (residential and light commercial), agricultural engineering or manufacturing background
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service and relationship building with customers and suppliers
  • Management or leadership experience and the ability to engage and motivate others
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to help grow the business
  • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Focused and organised with good attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise - especially under pressure
  • Solutions focused approach
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to spot sales opportunities
  • Flexible and willing to travel
  • Clean driving licence
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access)
  • Due to the technical nature of this role you will need to be numerate with a good attention to detail and a real willingness to learn.Due to our client’s rural location, your own transport will be required.
