Job Description

This company is creating beautifully engineered medical devices that improves the lives of and daily experiences for many people.With an exciting product and proposition, they are looking for a Design Engineer for disposable medical equipment, such as, blood cartridges, sterile packaging, transport packaging and labelling.You will oversee the specification, design and production of disposables.Key responsibilities:

  • Review and approve existing requirements relating to all Quanta disposables, amend and extend to deliver
  • Maintain and develop the sensing systems through instrumentation, such as membrane and temperature sensing, conductivity measurement, valve leak measurement, blood leak detection and air in blood detection
  • Circuit specification, design and testing
  • Verification and Validation testing of all disposables and processes internally and with external manufacturing partner(s)
  • Oversee disposables tooling and production equipment including design, procurement and commissioning
  • YOU WILL KNOW!
  • Injection moulding, hotplate welding, ultrasonic welding, solvent bonding, sterilisation (EtO, Gamma, E Beam)
  • Manufacturing process development in a high-volume environment
  • Manufacturing methods/process definition, validation, auditing and approval
  • Automation strategy and development
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (ideally Solidworks)
  • Experience of CAPA processes and issue management systems
  • YOU MUST HAVE!
  • Degree qualified materials specialist or related engineering or scientific discipline with post qualification experience in disposables related development and / or manufacturing
  • Medical Devices experience
  • High volume manufacturing ideally with injection moulding of acrylics and assembly (PVC film, PVC tubing and associated fittings)
