As an English teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students andfoster a deep appreciation for the English language and its rich literary heritage.Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language and literature lessons to secondary school students, aligning with the curriculum guidelines.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that encourage students critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to a diverse range of learners, including those with different abilities and learning styles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to participate actively.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and resources to enhance students comprehension and language proficiency.
  • Provide constructive feedback, assess student progress, and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate English with other subjects.
  • Stay updated with current trends, methodologies, and educational research in the field of English teaching, incorporating innovative practices into instruction.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians, keeping them informed about their childs progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and actively contribute to the schools extracurricular activities and events.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Postgraduate degree in English or Education is preferred.
  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching qualifications/licensure.
  • Proven experience teaching English language and literature to secondary school students.
  • Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, literature, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to working with colleagues and students.
