Job Description

Shift QA Inspector Hours of work - 3 Shift rotating shift pattern - mornings, afternoons & nightsMonday to FridayTemporary to Permanent - Weekly PaidUp to £13 per hour (Depending on experience)Our client is a privately owned SME based in the Pontypridd area who has a strong track record for over 50 years, during which it has developed a major primary manufacturing facility and a diverse range of products and clients. Due to recent major contractwin have opportunities for experienced QA Inspectors to join the company on a 12-week temporary to permanent basis.Job Purpose: To check that all components are produced effectively, efficiently and to Company and Customer standards at all timesResponsibilities: To carry out work instructions for start of production as laid down in the IMS manual Sorting of labels and packing specs for production Control quality of all components produced To carry out all post-production quality checks as required To carry out checks on all production machines as required Ensure packer inspectors are completing their inspection checks and recording their findings on the relevant paperwork To carry out component capacity checks as required To check all colours against standards and file away and record new colour standards to keep system up to date Ensure all components are packaged, labelled, and palletised in line with customer and company requirements To liaise with shift supervisors on all production problems To supervise any packing personnel required in the department ensuring that they are working to the required standard, that they are fully occupied and that breaks are taken as outlined in their contracts of employment Ensure Non-Conforming procedure is followed when a defect has been highlighted Ensure all visual defect samples are up to date on the machine Comply with quality standards as set by the Company and to co-operate in both internal and external audits as required Ensure all paperwork is the correct revision Carry out audits when required Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, quality and environmental management Ensure all measuring equipment is functional and within its calibration dates in conjunction with the QC calibration report Ensure that the department is safe and clean during and at the end of each shift To carry out administration and reporting as necessary The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job descriptionPerson Specification: Plans and organises own work, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken The ability to work on ones own initiative to achieve objectives, taking accountability for own work/actions Ability to communicate effectively, particularly verbally Ability to follow instructions and maintain the required level of work output for the position Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work Proven ability to work to specific work quality standards Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work Can work as part of a team to achieve team objectives Able to respond positively to changing work demands Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities and has a professional approach to work Takes decisive action to address and react to opportunities and problems in day-to-day work Ability to monitor quality of others work, ensuring procedures are followed Ability to listen, give advice and recommendations to people in a positive and constructive manner Good numerical skills Basic computer skills Double checks accuracy of own work Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further training if required)Essential Experience: Held a previous Quality Assurance role in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Acorn Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
