Job Description

Lead X Ray Radiographer | Bushey, Watford | Full Time, flexible shifts across 3, 4 or 5 daysSpire Bushey have recently invested into xray and due to an expansion in theatres taking us to 6 operating rooms and 3 ultrasound rooms, we are looking for a Lead Radiographer to manage and organise this department effectively.Spire Bushey Hospital is one of North London and Hertfordshire’s leading private hospitals, with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality treatments. The hospital offers a premium service in key areas of complex healthcare including orthopaedics, neurology, cardiac care, and gynaecology. Spire Bushey Hospital forms part of a 4-site portfolio, and is supported by and works alongside Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, Elstree Cancer Centre and Spire Pathology Centre – based on Centennial Park in Elstree - just 5 minutes from the main hospital site.Duties and responsibilities

  • Act as a lead Specialist Diagnostic Imaging resource to provide advice and support on assessment approaches and conclusions to colleagues and others, using highly developed clinical skills
  • To act as Radiation Protection Supervisor and collate all relevant information
  • Update radiation working practices and policies in collaboration with the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and Radiation Protection Advisor
  • Identify when service developments and thinking may benefit the practice of others and assist in their marketing in the wider forum
  • Provide highly specialist education and development to colleagues within Spire Healthcare and, if appropriate act as a mentor, to clinical and medical staff in other locations
  • Lead in the development, identification and implementation of appropriate learning opportunities within and outside the workplace
    • Who were looking for
  • HCPC registered
  • Degree (BSc Honours in Radiography or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience of clinical leadership e.g. developing peers
  • Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solutions for new imaging services
  • Evidence of post registration continual professional development
  • Keeps abreast of clinical developments in own field
  • Team working
