Job Description

Based from their Bury offices, close to excellent transport links, this well established and successful company is looking for an experienced SHEQ Advisor or Health and Safety Advisor them. Along with a salary of £38,000, they offer excellent workingconditions and benefits that include a car allowance or company car, profit share sceme, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, healthcare cashback plan, death in service benefits, free parking, and a pension scheme.What will you be doing as an SHEQ AdvisorReporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will dealing with sites and employees across the business, ensuring employees comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to. Duties will include:* Making site visits bi-monthly including site set up locations to undertake audits and support the Depot Managers with legal compliance * Ensuring health and safety, environmental and quality standards are met across sites, in line with Legal Requirements and the companys ISO Systems.* Investigating / recording accidents of Injury, Near Miss, Fire, Environmental & Cases of Ill Health* Identifying potential hazards, determining ways of reducing risks and identification of actions that can be taken* Compiling statistics for reports and presentations* Monitoring environmental impacts, championing a more sustainable business* Undertaking risk assessments, DSE assessments and site audit inspections* Developing and writing internal health and safety procedures/docs, supporting the management team with the implementation * Carrying out site safety inductions and monitoring safety critical training requirements, advising and training staff on best work practices* Suggesting improvements to current working processes, driving continual improvements* Liaising with relevant authorities where required* Keeping up to date with current health and safety legislation, ensuring continual compliance* Undertaking and assisting with COSHH control across all depot locationsWe would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:* Previous strong experience in a similar SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) or Health and Safety Advisor role, ideally with experience of dealing with quality and environmental * Experience carrying out risk assessments and accident investigation is essential* Possessing a NEBOSH General Certificate (COSHH would also be beneficial)* Experience working with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 would be beneficial * Experience in manufacturing, distributon, construction or logistics would be beneficial * Highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills * Comfortable using Word, Excel and Outlook * Full current driving licenceWhat will you get in return for your work as SHEQ Advisor* A salary of £38,000 * Car allowance or company car* Annual profit share* 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 23 days after 2 years * Pension scheme* Free parking* Death in service benefit x 3 annual salary* Healthcare cashback planTo ApplyIf this sounds like an SHEQ Advisor role you will LOVE, please send your CV todayWe aim to respond to all successful applications within 2 days.
