Due to continued growth our client are seeking an experienced Production Manager with an FMCG background.This role is responsible for the overall management of production at our Bury facility and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures.Enhancing operational procedures and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced KPI reporting and looks for opportunities to improve systems and processes through cost managementThis position requires you to plays an integral role in facilitating the delivery of production effectiveness. Health, Safety and EnvironmentYou will lead by example in all H&S related policies and procedures, driving a culture of a safety first philosophy and leading engagement towards zero tolerances. Key responsibilities will include:Ensuring safety sampling audits are conducted effectively on a weekly basis will be imperative in identifying safety issues and encouraging all production staff to participate in feeding back ideas for continuous improvement.Owning, reporting on and delivery of departmental key HS&E objectivesContributing to the risk profile reduction of key environmental aspects and their impactsContributing to site HS&E initiatives and reviewsDeveloping and improving departmental risk assessments and standard operating proceduresReporting any accident/incidents and to complete investigations in line with the companies mandatory policies QualityThis role will have full responsibility for maintaining the required quality standard of finished products and raw materials within the production areas. Working collaboratively with the supervisors and team leaders you will be responsible for analyzing qualitydata to identify areas of improvement.PeopleYou will fully embrace our employees wellbeing agenda and improve employee engagement by promoting two way communication and ideas from the factory floor to proactively working with employees to improving employee safety and wellbeing our working environmentand conditions.In addition, you will:Lead and developing a team manufacturing team leadersDevelop and embed competence skills matrix within the businessDevelop a resource plan to meet future manufacturing output growthalong with people deliveryDeliveryThis role requires a collaborative working relationship with planning, procurement, and dispatch to ensure OTIF of 99.5% to customer. The organisation of works orders and priority lists in production will play a key part in ensuring 1 week of finished goods stock for all SKUs is maintained.CostIn depth analysis of OEE data will highlight the main reasons for waste in production.The role will require you to complete time studies and value stream mapping to identify opportunities.You will be required to participate and involve yourself in continuous improvement programmes in developing shop floor operatives and team leaders in the improvement activities.Your normal working hours would be 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday but are subject to change based on workload and seasonal peaks with some weekend work required were needed.Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
