Job Description

We are actively looking to engage transport supervisory, planning & compliance experts for an exciting opportunity in Burton-on-Trent as a Transport Compliance Controller!Client DetailsMy client is a fast-growing, family run business, who has been operating in the UK & European specialist transport haulage sector for around 82 years! They have numerous depots based across the Burton-on-Trent in Derbyshire and have undergone unprecedentedlevels of growth due to external investment. The business operates a fleet of 84 specialist vehicles including artics, rigids, Moffats, HIAB, cranes and abnormal load vehicles. The business has recently achieved FORS Gold Standard and is looking to grow theirtransport compliance offering.DescriptionAs a Transport Compliance Controller you will report into the Transport Director on a daily basis and will be held responsible for the overall compliance, servicing and maintenance of a busy fleet of Class 1 vehicles and Lifting Equipment. You will alsobe the lead auditor to ensure FORS accreditation is upheld, whilst covering the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain FORS status - booking audits, audit preparation and maintenance of associated control systems.
  • Responsible for day to day fleet compliance elements across all operating centres, this includes but not limited to
  • Driver daily checks & Tachograph analysis
  • Plan and record all vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules
  • To maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspections, defects and repairs carried out to the fleet and maintain all relevant legal documentation.
  • Promote and support the use of our tracking & telematics provision throughout the business
  • Updating all transportation documentation and risk assessments
ProfileThe successful Transport Compliance Controller will have a proven record in transport supervision and compliance co-ordination. You will also have the following skills & attributes:
  • 3+ years in the transport industry
  • Knowledgeable around drivers hours, WTD and tachographs
  • Experience in servicing, maintenance schedules for Class 1 and Class 2 Vehicle
  • Experience managing and auditing FORS would be advantageous
  • Ideally CPC qualified (not essential)
  • Commutable to the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire.
Job Offer
  • £32,000-£38,000
  • 33 days per year annual leave
