CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based near Burton on Trent on a full time, permanent basis.The Company:Our client formulates, manufactures and fills various products including aerosol, liquid and tube products. Their team offers a full service set of solutions spanning creative & design, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, quality assurance, complianceand logistics. For this role within their Senior Management Team, the company is looking for an experienced people manager with a good regulatory background in REACH and CLP/ GHS who will utilise their expertise of product regulations and consumer safety requirements,and manage the compliance team. You will report to the MD and the company offers a salary in the range of £45-48,000 depending on experience, company-wide profit bonus, pension and other benefits. Please note that this person will be required on site 5 daysa week and hours are 8.30-5pm with an early finish on a Friday.Location:The Technical Manager will be based at the companys site near Burton on Trent, easily commutable from by car from Derby, Coventry, Nottingham and surrounding areas.Technical Manager Role:Your main duties will be:-To introduce, lead and implement Regulatory and Product Safety strategies and plans that support business objectives while ensuring full regulatory compliance in all relevant markets.-To lead and manage the Compliance Team members to ensure the following:-That manufactured products are compliant with relevant national and international regulations, including Biocidal, GHS/CLP, REACH, ADD, BDP, COPR, BPR, CE Marking, Cosmetic and transport regulations.-That all product registrations are reviewed on a planned basis.-That declarations on labels are in line with regulations.-That the company MSDS system is maintained to ensure that raw material information and MSDS are kept up to date and compliant.-To implement regulatory projects as agreed.-To compile and submit dossiers to support the registration process of new countries as required.-That all new product introductions and amended products are processed for compliance in a timely and efficient manner.-To develop and maintain strong, collaborative internal partnerships (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, Operations, etc.) to facilitate workflow and information sharing.-To manage and train the Compliance team ensuring all SOPs and policies are adhered to.Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:-Experience in a diverse range of products in the automotive, industrial and household sectors - essential-Knowledge of and experience with personal care, health and beauty products (including biocidal products) would also be beneficial-Sound REACH & CLP regulations experience - essential -People management experience - essential-Scientific degree or equivalent in chemistry or related subject - essentialEntitlement to work in the UK is essential.
