Job Description

Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker - Derby / Burton-on-Trent - 29K + benefitsHamptons Resourcing are proud to be working exclusively with a Specialist Childrens LD Residential Services provider to help them source either a Team leader or a Senior Residential Support Worker to assist in the running of a 3 bedded Childrens ResidentialHome in Derby and Burton-on-Trent.The Home caters for children with Learning Disabilities and /or Autism. The level of disability can vary, some of the children may have communication difficulties and require additional tools to communicate such as PECS. Thesuccessful candidates will be Involved in shaping and delivering the residential homes Statement of Purpose and supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to provide high quality care services that support the needs of children and young people.The company currently has 5 homes, 2 of which are brand new establishments ready for Ofsted registration, one with an Ofsted "Outstanding rating" and two with a "good" Ofsted rating and outstanding qualities.This is a challenging yet greatly rewarding role for the right candidate and offers fantastic benefits to support the role.This post is key to the culture of the Childrens Home and is essential to the quality and care the company provides for the children to reach their full potential. The Team leader / Senior Support Worker will be expected to play a hands-on role with the childrenand extend your support and guidance to a dedicated team whilst assisting the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager in the running of daily duties. You will have a great support network and further training opportunities available. Our client aims to provideand deliver nothing but the very best professional care with quality being the focus and would want you to be part of the innovative developments taking place on a regular basis.Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist the registered manager and deputy manager to ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance
  • with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
  • Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing good quality care which is free from
  • oppression, and where differences are respected and valued.
  • To support the implementation of a development plan for the service that ensures the delivery of high quality, clinically
  • informed practice.
  • Achieve the highest standards of care for the children and young people.
  • To co-ordinate and monitor casework and administrative functions of the home and evaluate standards of performance.
  • To assist and supervise the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people, and to identify and
  • prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
  • To be involved in the induction, mentoring, and supervision of new employees.
  • To contribute to a comprehensive team training and development programme, enabling the service to have available
  • all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the young people.
  • Support the registered manager and deputy manager to promote teamwork and ensure good organisation retention.
Skills & Abilities
  • Minimum of 2years experience residential care
  • Level 3/4 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Significant experience within a residential setting
  • Desirable
  • Hold and promote the ethos and values of the organisation
  • Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to required standard
  • Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Able to work within the principles of the Children Act 1989
  • Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of safeguarding
  • Sound knowledge of childrens homes policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Working knowledge of the Care Standards 2000, Childrens
  • Homes Regulations 2015
  • Driving license
The Permanent Salary: £27,190 - £28,164Perks:
