Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator/Engineer to work within one of the UKs largest gaming and gambling providers.BENEFITS: Salary up to £40k, 37.5 hours per week, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off, plus the opportunity to buy or sell extra days, employee discounts on holidays and theme parks, social events, annual bonuses, pension,stock purchase plans and flexible hours and work from home 2 days per week.We are looking for a Systems Administrator/Engineer to help design, build, maintain and secure a highly available, scalable and supportable IT solutions We need someone who has experience around Linux and Windows operating systems and have experience with Hyper-V,VMware ESX/vSphere, and experience with MySQL Server and other Microsoft applications. We are looking for someone that can work on both project based work and also provide incident and service requests too. The company are adopting a hybrid working pattern and offering 2 days per week working from home, however, this will be dependent on workload and commitments. Although the there are offices based throughout the UK the successful candidate will be based at theoffice in the centre of Burton, close to public transport links and also offers ample parkingKey Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience supporting Windows Servers with high-availability deployments
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Hyper-V virtualisation including Hyper-V Cluster
  • Authentication knowledge around Active Directory and integration with Linux authentication
  • Solid VMware ESX/vSphere implementation, support, maintenance and tuning skills
  • Experience with Linux operating system, including resilience and high availability
  • Good working knowledge of large scale SAN & NAS (ideally iSCSI and Dell Compellent)
  • Ability to integrate with MS SQL Server and Cisco networking teams
  • Experience working with change control and central configuration management systems
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be a good team player and easily adaptable
  • Can do attitude
Nice to have:
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience with monitoring systems, ideally Check_MK or Prometheus
  • Experience with MS Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline and Automation - ideally Terraform, Ansible or Docker
  • Experience with VEeam Backup and Replication
