Stock Controller Burton on Trent£23,000 - £26,000 per annumMonday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm / 9:00am – 5:00pm Are you ready to take your career to the next level in the dynamic world of the chemical industry We are seeking a Stock Controller to join our team in Burton. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic, keen attention to detailand a hands on approach to make a significant impact.As a stock controller, you will play a pivotal role in our operations ensuring the smooth flow of stock within our warehouse and ensuring that stock levels are maintained accurately. This role requires a blend of desk based and warehouse responsibilities,making it ideals for individuals with warehouse experience looking to take the next step in their career.Benefits

The Candidate
  • Previous experience in stock control is essential
  • A background within warehousing and distribution operations
  • A background within the chemicals industry is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent numerical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A-level or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management concepts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Physical capability for tasks involving heavy lifting and stock handling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage stock levels, organizing and optimizing warehouse space.
  • Receive and check incoming deliveries.
  • Maintain and update the stock management system (primarily SOHO).
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide accurate information for purchase orders (POs).
  • Implement and suggest improvements in stock control processes.
  • Perform accurate stock counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Adapt to both indoor and outdoor working conditions, including handling chemicals.
  • The role will consist of 50% desk based & 50% warehouse based.
  • Monitor and maintain precise inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment.
  • Analyse sales trends and market conditions to forecast future inventory needs.
  • Implement efficient inventory control procedures, including stock rotation and proper storage practices.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with inventory management policies.
  • Monitor slow-moving or obsolete stock and propose appropriate actions to minimize financial losses.
  • Continuously improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
