Job Description

Senior Management Accountant | Burton-on-Trent | Office working - with flex About the company: A dynamic and rapidly growing construction business in the UK, operating with significant autonomy under the umbrella of a German-owned £40 million turnover company. With a remarkable 40% year-on-year growth, they seeka talented and proactive Senior Management Accountant to join the Finance Team in Burton-on-Trent.A prominent player in the construction materials sector, synonymous with quality and innovation. With a rich history and a global footprint, They are a trusted partner for construction professionals, consistently delivering excellence across its products and services.This is a pivotal role for a Management Accountant to contribute to the success of the Finance Team. While we primarily seek financial expertise, a proactive, hands-on approach is essential due to the collaborative nature of the close-knit team. The rolewill be responsible for overseeing all of operational finance, Management reporting and financialcompliance.Key Responsibilities:Business Support:

  • Collaborate closely with the UK Finance Director to align with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support organisational performance through monitoring financial indicators.
Corporate and Business Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Assist in decision-making by providing insights into performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Process Financial Data:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts packs, regular management information and ad-hoc reporting
  • Manage cash flow and provide forecasting of future cash flow
  • Prepare annual budgets and bi-annual forecasts
  • Preparation, analysis and reconciliation of monthly books of account and GL for statutory and management reporting
  • Maintaining the standardisation of the CoA as well as P&L and Balance Sheet formats
  • Assist with preparing of annual audit file; assist with information as requested from Parent Company auditors as and when required; provide audits schedules during the audit field work process
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for the UK and Ireland
  • Provide information to the Company Tax Advisors in relation to annual and ad-hoc tax affairs.

  • Identify and manage risks appropriately.
  • Apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Ethics and Professionalism:
  • Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards.
  • Exhibit personal effectiveness in fast-changing environments.
  • Communicate effectively and influence others.
Requirements:Essential:
  • Fully Qualified (ACCA/CIMA) with 2+ years post-qualification experience in industry.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Power BI. Experience of Microsoft Great Plains would be advantageous.
Desirable:
  • Experience in the construction/hire industry.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Insphire.
