Burton Fields School, a small junior school in Burton on Trent, is looking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Caretaker.Hours: 18.75hrs per week, Monday to Friday Split shift - 7am-8.15am 3.45pm-6.15pmStarting salary; Fulltime equivalent = £21,968 per annum; Pro rata 18.75 hrs per week at £11.39 per hour = £11,105 per annumWe require someone who:-Has caretaking or facilties management experience in a school or similar public environment-Has a range of practical skills which can be used to maintain the school premises (eg joinery, plumbing, decorating etc.)-Has good interpersonal skills and is able to communicate well with staff and visitors-Is well organised, able to prioritise workload, and can stay calm under pressure-Can work well independently and as part of a team-Has a good sense of humourThe post will include tasks such as:-Locking and unlocking of school building and maintaining the security of the site-Maintaining the function and appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas to a high standard-Checking that heating systems operate at optimum efficiency-Carrying out regular safety checks and keeping required records up-to-date-Liaising with contractors in relation to any larger maintenance projectsIf you feel you have the required skills and knowledge for this role, we would love to hear from you.We are committed to equal opportunities, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
