Job Description

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer position (Night Shift)x2 positions availableFull time, permanent positionBased in Burton upon Trent To ensure machinery, equipment and services run smoothly on a day-to-day basis in the runningof food production on fixed night shift. To complete reactive, proactive and preventativemaintenance in accordance with production.Key Skills needed

  • Experience of working in a food-manufacturing environment
  • City & Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ electro technical technology (LV2 minimum)
  • Mechanical experience NVQ level 2/3 multi-skilled maintenance.
  • 17th/18th. Edition electrical qualification BS7671
  • Appropriate Health, Safety & Environmental training & experience.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of CMMs.
  • Refrigeration/ Steam boiler experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills – GCSE grade C or above English Language.
  • Numerate – GCSE grade C or above Mathematics.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-skilled team and promote team working at all times.
  • Flexibility to cover all shifts particularly in times of holidays and sickness.
  • Minimum food hygiene level 2
  • Key responsibilities
  • Checking and calibrating instruments to ensure they are accurate.
  • Respond to machine/equipment breakdowns immediately.
  • Implement improvement projects and track such projects in terms of delivery, timeliness and cost.
  • Ensure timely repair of simple breakdowns, assist with root cause identification and solutions put in place to prevent repeated failures.
  • Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental good engineering practice standards are maintained.
  • Comply with all factory standards & procedures.
  • Accurately complete all engineering related paperwork & documentation for all projects and activities.
  • Develop a training package for production operatives, which will develop/prepare them for progression to Machine Minder status.
  • Undertake any other duties or tasks that may be required by senior management from time to time aiding in the operation of the business.
