Job Description

Pertemps have an exciting new role for very valued client based in Stretton, Burton On Trent on a full time on-going temporarybasisDo you want to be apart of the daily running of one of the sites as a Gatehouse clerk of the worlds largest logistic company, and with a comprehensive network of operations across the UK.Hours would be mainly based on Days 06:00am-02:00pm, however there will be a need for Holiday and absence cover if required for 14:00-22:00 noon shift£10.50 PER HOURRole Overview

  • Maintain effective control of the Stretton site for inbound/outbound deliveries, visitors, subcontractors and security processes as required
  • Specific Role Challenges - working in a time critical and fast moving Warehouse environment to tight deadlines.
  • Completion of set and ad hoc tasks as directed by the Shift FLM
Primary purpose of the role(What is the value added by this role, the overall aim, the reason that this role is required) Reporting into the Shift Management, the purpose of this role is to help ensure that goods are received, stored, assembled and delivered to Customers / Distribution Centres in a time critical and fast moving Warehouse environment. To provide guidance, support and training to the warehouse colleagues and help with the day to day running of the Shift, correctly utilising labour to meet budgeted targets and KPIs.Lead by example, promoting best working practices on shift and promoting a positive can do approach to tasks and responsibilitiesGeneral Accountabilities(What are the general responsibilities of the role, against which performance is measured)
  • Ensure all primary trailers are checked for seals and relevant documentation on access and egress from site.
  • Update relevant security and warehouse systems as required for access and egress on site
  • Ensure accurate update of KPIs for receipt and despatch as required
  • Complete regular daily trailer checks and ensure Primary trailers /suppliers are turnaround in a timely manner to avoid congestion on the road and in the site yard
  • Ensure accurate update of goods receipt schedule/systems
  • Maintain control of empties uplifts and produce accurate Kpi reports for the network
  • Arrange collection of waste, pallets and empties on site - ensuring no suppliers exit site without collection of empties/ullage as required
  • Ensure efficient control of yard areas and keep waiting time on Eastern Avenue to a minimum
  • Ensure setup of the goods despatch/receipt shift including initial ordering of trailers
  • Accurate recording of vehicles being despatched - including paperwork, seal and gross vehicle weight checks
  • Maintain high level of security - conducting searches on vehicle, employee, visitors and courier. Monitor CCTV as required and escalate issues accordingly
  • Dealing with visitors/contractors and issue relevant site passes/access cards as agreed
  • Ad hoc administration duties as required by management
  • Ensure vehicles and visitors accessing the site comply with site rules and legalities
