Job Title: Engine Stripper (Rolling stock)Location: Burton-On-Trent, Staffordshire Duration: Temporary to Permanent (12 weeks)Pay Rate: £14.04 per hour. Shifts: days Monday to Thursday - 7am to 5pm Friday - 7am to 1pmHours per week: 44Personal Profile. We are currently recruiting for a Engine Stripper for a temporary to permanent position based in Burton-on-Trent working within the Rail industry. Job overview. The stripping down of rolling stock engines and fuel packs in preparation to be cleaned and rebuilt for the customer. * Be able to strip all the mechanical components to engine as per instruction.* Collect new parts and distribute to the right engines/machinery.* Jet wash engines after final checks before they leave site.* Wash/ clean vehicles such as rafts, engines, rafts frames and transmissions using pressured washer equipment.* Inspect for signs of damage/wear.* Prepare vehicles for delivery.* Must be able to pack and wrap products.* Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.* Report any near misses.* Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.* Report any faults/ issues with jobs to the line manager.Background & Experience:* Good verbal and written skills* Flexible attitude to work - able to change hours and responsibilities with minimal notice.* The ability to work to deadlines and short lead times.* To work as part of team* To be willing to learn new skills* To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employees skills and abilities* Ability to operate and control equipment* Have a good understanding of health and safetyQualifications/Education required:* Previous mechanical experience. Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications ideal but not a necessity for an experienced person.
