Job Description

Electrical Design EngineerBurton Upon TrentGood base salary+ good pension & benefitsINTRODUCTIONAs a world leading engineering company with a proven track record in providing advanced engineered solutions, predominantly to the rail industry (locos, not infrastructure), as well as tunnelling and construction, my client has a history and pedigree that spans more than a century.They have developed some novel equipment that is usually attached to locomotive and that provides additional capabilities and functionality to the locos.Due to an increased workload and a healthy order book, they are now looking to bring in an additional Electrical Design Engineer to join their already impressive team.THE ROLEAs Electrical Design Engineer your role will involve:

  • Electrically designing products with 2D detailed schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Updating existing designs
  • Working closely with the Mechanical Design team
  • Supporting technical authors
  • Using ERP systems and generating bills of material
  • Working with the production team to resolve technical issues
  • THE PERSONThe successful Electrical Design Engineer will have:
  • A relevant degree
  • Experience in a product design environment
  • 2D AutoCAD experience
  • Ideally 3D CAD experience. Autodesk Inventor preferable
  • PLC control systems knowledge ideally experienced with Canbus
  • AC and DC experience
  • Worked on low volume, highly complex and ideally large products
  • Ideally experience with Microsoft NAV or similar ERP system
