Job Description

Catering and Hospitality Course Leader (Tutor)Full time, 37 hours per week£27,304 - £30,743 per annum (plus £4,500 Golden Hello staged over 3 years)Burton on Trent, Town Centre CampusWho are we looking forWe are looking to recruit a talented Catering and Hospitality Course Leader to join our current Hospitality department at Burton and South Derbyshire College. Ideal for someone wanting to explore a teaching career, but still be a Chef.The successful applicant will be an accomplished Chef who can produce a wide range of outstanding food, and can teach, motivate and inspire learners to achieve the same, ideally with experience of delivering professional cookery qualifications.Applicants must hold a level 3 Professional Cookery qualification, and the College welcomes applications from seasoned Chefs who desire to pursue a career in further education. We are happy to offer training for individuals to gain a recognised teachingqualification alongside this role.About you

  • Previous experience within culinary education or cookery school is desirable
  • Confidence and charisma
  • Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience is desirable
  • Possess an interactive and engaging teaching style
  • Good interpersonal skills when and willing to work as part of a team
  • Budgeting and costing awareness is desirable
