Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Buyer role for our client who is a growing materials supplier within the Midlands and locations all around the UK.Our client, based in Burton-Upon-Trent, is a specialist provider of Metals to manufacturers, sourcing from a number of suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Far East. They are going through a great period of growth, acquiring new sites and growing existingones, allowing for further development of the company as a whole!The ideal candidate would have a background with a number of years within Procurement as well as having experience sourcing from Europe and/or the Far East, with knowledge of shipping and import/export details being advantageous. Ideally you would be ITproficient within Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems as a whole.This role would be looking for an individual keen to develop their negotiation and sourcing skills further on top of their existing foundation.Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating best prices and quality for products across variety of suppliers
  • Developing relationships with existing and new suppliers across UK, Europe and Far East
  • Dealing with shipping agents, controlling containers and supporting on wider shipping logistics
  • Wider support of Procurement team, including processing POs for orders
  • Looking for opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Providing support on ordering, delivery and transport of products
Ideal Candidate:
  • 3+ years experience within Procurement
  • European/Far East sourcing experience
  • Experience dealing with a wide product portfolio would be advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate negotiation and sourcing skills
  • Independent and organised worker
Details:
  • £32,000-£37,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Burton-Upon-Trent
  • 5x a week onsite
  • 8.30-5pm (30 minute lunch), potential flexibility here
