Job Description

Production OperativesJob Type: Full Time, PermanentLocation: Burslem, Stoke on TrentWorking Hours: 40 hours per week. Hours will be on rotating shifts from 06.0014.15 and 14.0022.15.There may be a requirement in particularly busy periods to run an additional shift from 22.0006.15.Salary: Up to £10.86 per hour Depending on ExperienceA shift allowance of £70/week is paid for a noon shift and £100/week for a night shift. Further multi skilled pay rewards will also apply.Benefits

We own five factories and operate out twenty addresses throughout the UK.This position is within our Nicobond factory in Stoke on Trent. The Nicobond brand is well respected within the industry having invented modern day tile adhesive back in 1958. We are an innovative forward-thinking company that is able to offer its people acareer within a business that is financially stable and growing.Due to a planned upturn in business, we are recruiting for Production Operatives who will ideally have precious experience within a manufacturing environment, but we will consider applications from people who dont have this because we willbe training you in full. It would be good if you have a Forklift Truck license/experience.The OpportunityProduction Operatives:Production Operatives will form part of a shift team and have specific duties within an assigned section although, with time, training will be given within other areas of production leading to multi skills development to suit the business. There will beopportunities in different sections, which allows people to acquire new skills and gain a better understanding of production processes.You will need physical fitness, some strength and dexterity to succeed in the job. There may be a need to lift heavy objects, assemble parts, or engage in repetitive movements throughout a shift. The successful applicant will have various prerequisite skillsand qualifications.Although training will be provided in general, previous experience in production would be a distinct advantage with candidates showing experience in using production machinery. A forklift licence would be beneficial, but training would be provided for theright candidate.ResponsibilitiesProduction Operatives:
  • Running a semi-automated mixing plant manufacturing a wide range of products.
  • Running an automated filling line. Setting up and operation of specialised production machinery, ensuring each machine is always running effectively and safely.
  • Wrapping and stacking pallet in readiness for transfer to the warehouse.
  • Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines.
  • Maintaining and promoting a clean and organised work environment
  • Storing goods and raw materials in a factory or warehouse which may involve operating lifting equipment or forklift trucks.
  • Adhering to relevant Health and Safety protocol when operating machinery or and handling products.
  • Ensuring our customer orders are met to our high standards of quality.
  • Working with line managers to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with maintenance of equipment and cleaning as required.
  • Contribute to meeting team and company-wide production targets, which make a real difference to our business and our customers.
Person SpecificationProduction Operatives:
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a willingness to learn.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Good numerical, reading and some computer skills.
  • Proactive and can take initiative when required.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Flexible and reliable.
  • Some working knowledge of relevant machinery and equipment including identification of problems.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision and manage their own workload.
  • Good attention to detail to quickly notice errors on a production line.
  • Strong teamwork skills, as the job involves working with others in a team.
There are no fixed education or training requirements for this occupation. However, candidates typically need to show an understanding of English and Maths, to show they have the required numeracy and literacy levels for the job. Candidates may have alsogained valuable experience and skills through a previous employer or an apprenticeship.
