Further expansion has created an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their dynamic team in Durham.Role:As Supply Chain Manager you will administer and supervise the efficient running of all subcontracted work. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain and generate new relationships with supply chain partners and subcontractors, allowing the sales teamto focus on winning new work.The role will involve regular reporting to management on costs / margins and SLAs. Critically the role will be to ensure smooth movement of invoice through from purchase to payment whilst supporting business growth aspirations. This role will be a mixtureof office based and external with the flexibility for UK wide travel.Responsibilities

Effective management of the subcontract services base including new work placement, price increase management, supplier queries, invoicing issues and order bookings
Management of the supply chain (subcontractors) including compliance, purchasing and administration
Negotiate contracts, pricing and services with suppliers ensuring best value for money and highest quality service
Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process
Manage and minimise the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain
Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet customer and our own in-house sustainability targets
Onboarding and sourcing of new subcontractors in line with business needs
Sub-contract administration to be completed in line with company / system process and within the agreed time frames, engaging with the compliance team as necessary
Assisting with any tenders, bids and proposals by supporting the Corporate Sales Managers and Head of Commercial on new opportunities
Manage and control outstanding workflow through the operating system (Waste Logics) to allow for speedy month end closure
Demonstrate an understanding of current/emerging legislation and the waste industry and understand how this can influence business strategy

Role Requirements

Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry would be extremely beneficial
Previous experience in procurement, supply chain of purchasing is necessary
Computer literate with solid experience of MS Office programmes
