A well-established, privately owned business that designs, manufactures, and installs bespoke engineered products worldwide is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Rochdale based team. Your hours of work will be 37 per weekMonday to Friday with a 1pm finish on a Friday, the company also offers a discretionary bonus, income protection, life insurance, sick pay, access to an occupational health programme plus much more!Reporting to the Project Manager, as a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be a key part of the deign team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed design drawings with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for various water treatment plants
• Producing engineering designs Finglow, FEA, Beam and data sheets
• Deflections and structural calculations
• Assisting with the preparation of quality and production plans
• Working closely with workshop personnel to ensure the assembly of equipment is in accordance with drawings and within project time scales
• Visiting client sites to complete site surveys

We are keen to speak to people about this Mechanical Design Engineer with the following skills and experience:

• HNC / HND / BEng in mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• Experience of design and manufacturing processes
• Experience using AutoCAD, Solidworks, 3D CAD, Vault and / or PDM softwarethis role will suit people from a draughtsman background
• Have a background in engineering including experience with structural steel, calculate beams and weight bearings
• As many of the solutions provided by the company are for high-end applications such as naval vessels, cruise ships and oil platforms proven experience within a fluid background such as water, oil, hydraulics is required
