Job Description

About Our ClientBroxtowe Borough Council serves Beeston Stapleford, Kimberley and Eastwood and surrounding areas, and has a diverse property portfolio of around 300 properties that ranges from operational assets and community facilities to leisure centres and high streetretail premises - including a recently completed 8 screen cinema with a range of independent restaurants. It has been successful in securing grants from the Towns Fund and levelling-up initiatives delivering new properties that will need to be proactivelymanaged post-completion.Job DescriptionAs MRICS Estates Manager, you will undertake hands on proactive management of the commercial estate, including a wide range of landlord and tenant, property management, asset valuation programme management, and developing and implementing asset strategiesand policies.You will lead a team of 5 members of staff who work together comprising Estates and Maintenance professionals and inspire and motivate them to achieve their full personal & professional potential.You will be a key member of the Asset Management Division, providing professional advice across the Council.You will make improvements to financial, economic and social benefits from the Councils assets whilst ensuring that operational departments havethe most economical & efficient real estate resources from which to deliver first-rate services to their stakeholders.You will be able to identify opportunities for improvement across the estate and prioritise interventions, including initiatives to hasten the Councils journey towards carbon neutrality.Experience with project and caseload management, implementing best practice and policies and procedures with asset strategies, instructing valuations and providing commercial advice, and preparing accurate professional reports would be advantageous in thisrole.The Successful Applicant

  • MRICS accredited with expertise in commercial property management, valuation, asset management or related discipline
  • Able to work under pressure and with constantly changing priorities
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Open and engaging in dealings with colleagues, supply chain members, and stakeholders including Senior Officers and elected Members
  • Model and promote behaviours consistent with Broxtowes values
  • Able to carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your line manager
Whilst experience of working in the public sector would be an advantage, this is not essential.Whats on OfferThe Estates Manager role is paid at a Grade 14 between £47,159 (SCP 66) and £48,605 (SCP 69).A significant benefits package is available, including but not limited to:
